Dear Thornbury Township Residents,

Please be advised that PennDOT will be closing Cheyney Road between Glen Mills Road and Creek Road, currently scheduled from May 11, 2026, and continuing through November 4, 2026. This closure is necessary to allow for repairs to the bridge/culvert on Cheyney Road (between Thornton Road and Station Road). During this time, a detour route will be in place - please see the attached detour map for details.

PennDOT will install advance signage approximately two weeks prior to the start of construction to notify motorists of the upcoming closure.

Please note that Cheyney Road will remain open to residents who live within the closure area.

If you have any questions regarding the road closure or detour, please contact:

Seyi Akinlotan | PennDOT Assistant Construction Engineer
Phone: 610-205-6683
