Rachel Kohl Community Library to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Date: January 9, 2018

(Glen Mills, PA) Rachel Kohl Community Library will be open on Monday, January 15, 2018.  We will be holding a special story time for all ages at 10:30 am, reading books about Dr. King and some encompassing the principles he fought for.

Children can write their dreams for a better tomorrow and place them on a giant peace sign displayed in the Library.

At 1 pm , we will watch the movie “Selma” (128 min. – PG-13). Golden Globe winner David Oyelowo shines as Dr. Martin Luther King, who rallied his followers on the historic march from Selma to Montgomery in the face of violent opposition, an event that became a milestone victory for the civil rights movement.

At 3:30, we will be showing the family friendly Disney movie “Ruby Bridges” (90 min.). It is the inspiring true story of six year old Ruby Bridges who was the first African-American to integrate her local New Orleans elementary school. Ruby’s heroic struggle for a better education becomes a lesson for us all.
