The Rachel Kohl Community Library serves the communities of Bethel, Chadds Ford, Chester Heights, Concord and Thornbury with access to all of Delaware County. The library's mission is to celebrate the joys of reading, learning and leisure time by providing either directly, or to serve as a gateway, a variety of informational, recreational and cultural resources.

Library’s New Museum Pass Program: Your Ticket to the Arts, Culture & Entertainment

Rachel Kohl Community Library, assisted by the financial contribution of the Friends of the Library now offers access to five area museums and gardens.

The Museum Pass Program offers patrons, with a valid library card in good standing, free admission to the Academy of Natural Sciences, Chanticleer Gardens, Elmwood Park Zoo, the National Constitution Center, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the UPenn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. 

How the pass works:
To check out a Museum Pass, adult cardholders may visit the library and select the attraction of choice. Passes are usually good for a two adults and up to four children Passes are good for one visit.

  • Passes are not renewable or available for reserve.
  • Passes are valid for three days from the time of check out.
  • Passes are available on a first?come, first?served basis.
  • Only one pass may be checked out at a time.

Each attraction may apply restrictions, blackout dates or separate admission for special events and exhibitions, so please check their website before going.

Build A Better World - 2017 Summer Reading Program

Readers of all ages will be reading, making and creating this summer as Rachel Kohl Community Library presents “Build a Better World” during our summer program. Activities will include magic, ScienceTellers, group games, physical challenges, art projects, science and engineering experiments, and more. Summer is a great time to build and create and have fun with friends! Your local library is the perfect place to help your imagination take off! Join us this summer for books, movies, music, activities and fun… And together we can build a better world.

The 2017 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story times, a reading club, visits from the Colonial Plantation and the Delaware Art Museum and more. Registration for “Build a Better World” begins on June 15 at the Library. The program itself starts Saturday June 24 with a performance by children’s performers Lolly and YoYo at 11am.
